Financial Controller
An excellent opportunity has arisen within City Building for an experienced Financial Controller.
Salary – £60,150- £64,425

The Financial Controller is a key member of the Finance Team for the City Building Group and will have specific responsibility for the provision of monthly management accounts pack, management of Finance Team, year end accounts & liaison with internal & external auditors, financial planning, and financial performance activities including management of balance sheet and cash flow. You will be responsible for leading an integrated and professional finance team to ensure the delivery of the highest levels of financial management consistent with the business objectives.
You will add value to the business by providing effective leadership in the development of financial systems and all finance and governance matters. You will liaise with external regulatory authorities and will play a key role in the identification of new business efficiencies and improved business systems, to ensure we are equipped to respond to changing needs whilst safeguarding the interests of the business at all times. You will bring a strong commercially focused finance skill, executive presence, evident influencing abilities with proven leadership skills, coupled with expertise in the running and installation of modern financial systems. You will develop a good understanding of the business and the industry it operates in and provide financial and commercial direction in support of the Business Plan. You will provide the corporate services of financial information to meet the requirements of internal and external auditors.
You will provide financial reporting to the Extended Management Team, and other meetings as required, and will prepare reports and recommendations in respect of the relevant areas under your control and related to key objectives.
A further key requirement of the post is compliance with all relevant legislation and provision of direction in the development of policies and procedures and monitoring arrangements in support of this. You will ensure that the divisions under your remit are performing as effectively as possible and are providing demonstrable continuous improvement in service delivery. You will ensure effective liaison between all divisions of the business and will provide professional advice and guidance relating to your particular area of expertise.
You will be fully qualified, either, CA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA and have operated at a senior level, you will have excellent inter personal and communication skills. You will be knowledgeable and credible in the relevant areas and will represent the interests of the business at all times.
You will be fully conversant with up to date legislative developments within all aspects of a commercially focused organisation and will bring an innovative approach to new developments. You will have extensive management experience and a commitment to development both on a personal basis and for your team, you will display a track record of relationship building, influencing and negotiating skills.
