Your main role will be carrying out management and refurbishment surveys for our various Clients. You will be used to working on your own, using your initiative, adapting to changing situations and taking charge where necessary in order to provide a great service to our Clients. You should ideally have experience using AlphaTracker software to capture sample data. You will also carry out directed bulk sampling for Clients.
When not carrying out surveys you will assist the Management and Office Staff to prepare reports, draw site plans on MS Visio and QC completed reports including those from sub-contractors. If you have experience in auditing, reinspections, H&S, risk assessment, quality roles or UKAS preparation then these skills would be useful to us. We are not currently accredited by UKAS, however we follow the same Guidance documents and Regulations as accredited Surveying Bodies and aim to gain accreditation in the short to medium term.
You must be keen and enthusiastic, with a flexible approach to work. Overtime is offered occasionally, and you may sometimes be asked to start early or work late to suit the business. You will be the public face of the Section so applicants must be good communicators and be calm and confident when dealing with the Public. You should fit into our Company ethos – be willing to help others, to go the extra mile for our Clients and get on with those around you.
Applicants are expected to engage and participate fully in all training provided. Excellent training opportunities will be provided during your employment both by our in-house Training Section and our numerous training providers across Glasgow including the possibility for further education for the right candidates. You will be encouraged to seek out training, research new technology and develop fresh techniques which may benefit the Section. Innovation is welcomed and diversity is encouraged.
Our aim is to provide our Clients with exactly the kind of survey and survey information they require. We believe the quality of the completed survey report is paramount – our surveys are in-depth and detailed to avoid mistakes and reduce the need for revisits. Normally you will attend surveys with a City Building representative. You should take satisfaction from seeing a job through from start to finish and knowing you have helped make a difference to someone by helping their repair or refurbishment take place safely and without delay.
Working hours are 37 per week to be worked flexibly to suit the needs of the business. We offer excellent terms and conditions of employment including enhanced leave provisions, sick pay and local government pension scheme.
