One of Scotland’s largest construction firms City Building (Glasgow) has launched a flexible working project available to all employees in association with Family Friendly Working Scotland (FFWS).

 Employers and education providers including schools and colleges have been urged to join forces to showcase the job opportunities available in construction and attract a wider range of employees, including young women, into the sector.

After continuously hearing from big brother Cameron, 20, a third-year joinery apprentice, about how much he enjoyed his apprenticeship at City Building, 17-year-old Brooke was determined to follow in his footsteps.

 City Building has launched its recruitment for 60 apprenticeships to work within the Construction Industry during National Apprentice Week.

A City Building joiner, who carries out essential maintenance work at the Emirates Arena, will return to the sports stadium later this month, but this time he’ll be laying down his tools to get into the boxing ring.

As part of celebrating  the Real Living Wage, Michael Matheson, MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity visit City Building on Tuesday 6th November to speak to our apprentices.   Alongside our new Chair, Cllr. Allan Casey they heard first-hand the excellent opportunities available for our young talent to grow.
